Obverse description Left-facing bust of Prince Jean (born 1921), hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, with the engraver's initials incuse below the neck truncation. To the left of the bust appears the crowned escutcheon of the Bourbons, and to the right the escutcheon of Luxembourg surmounted by a crested helm. The surrounding legend in Luxembourgish identifies the subject, with the face value of 50 francs displayed in the exergue between two pellets.
