| 背面描述 | A stylised Tharu ceremonial mask is depicted in high relief at the centre of the field, rendered with geometric facial features including rectangular eye and mouth forms and large circular ear ornaments suspended by braided cords on either side. A small mint mark appears to the lower left of the mask. The legend NEPAL is inscribed vertically along the right side of the field in raised Latin characters. |

The Tharu are an indigenous people of the Terai lowlands straddling Nepal and northern India — not a people with any historical or cultural connection to the Republic of the Congo. This coin belongs to a category of sub-Saharan African-issued bullion and collector gold that outsources its subject matter entirely to foreign themes, a practice common among several CFA-zone mints working through European intermediaries, particularly in the 2010s. The actual striking was almost certainly contracted out, as the Congo-Brazzaville mint has no facility capable of producing .999 gold to this specification.
