The BEAC 50 franc coin circulates across six member states of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa — Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon — all sharing a single currency pegged to the euro at a fixed rate of 655.957 CFA francs, a parity inherited from the franc zone arrangements formalized in 1945 and maintained without interruption since.
