正面描述 Intaglio portrait of an African woman in three-quarter profile facing left, set within an oval vignette at right, her hair braided and adorned with ornaments and wearing a beaded necklace. At centre-left, a large multicolour guilloche rosette bears the numeral 50; a small Congolese flag vignette appears above it in the upper centre. The border is composed of fine engine-turned lathe work incorporating palm fronds at each side, with the denomination numeral 50 repeated in each corner.

背面描述 A detailed intaglio vignette occupies the central field, rendered in dark green, showing two leopards in a tropical jungle setting — one striding forward and the other following close behind amid dense foliage, hanging vines, and trees. Large bold numerals 50 appear at left and right within the surrounding guilloche border, which is composed of intricate engine-turned lathe work throughout.

备注

The Banque Centrale du Congo Belge et du Ruanda-Urundi was established in 1952 to replace the earlier Banque du Congo Belge, separating central banking functions from commercial ones at a moment when Belgium was restructuring colonial financial administration across its African territories. This note is among the earliest issued under the new institution's name.

American Bank Note Company's involvement here reflects a broader postwar shift — several Belgian colonial authorities turned to New York printers after European printing infrastructure had been disrupted. The ABNC intaglio work on this series is notably finer than what predecessor notes managed from Brussels.
