备注

The Institut d'Émission de l'Afrique Occidentale Française et du Togo was itself a transitional institution — created in 1955 to replace the BCÉAO's colonial predecessor and manage currency for eight West African territories plus Togo ahead of independence. This note appeared just as that political unwinding was accelerating, with Ghana's independence less than a year away and the entire framework visibly temporary.

Banque de France printing brought high technical standards to the series, but the institutional identity it carries was obsolete within five years of issue.
