The denomination numeral '50' appears in two large guilloche-bordered counters on either side of the central vignette, with the bank title 'BANCA DELLA SVIZZERA ITALIANA' in bold curved lettering across the top and the value legend 'FRANCHI SVIZZERI CINQUANTA' in prominent letterpress below the central group. Three signature lines for the Cashier, President, and Director appear at the bottom, with the printer's imprint of the American Bank Note Co., New York. |

The reverse is printed entirely in blue, with a design composed of intricate guilloche lacework and lathe-work rosette patterns forming a large central medallion bearing the numeral '50' in white relief. Four corner medallions of similar guilloche work echo the central motif, and the whole surface is covered with a dense geometric underprint typical of American Bank Note Company security printing. The bank title 'BANCA DELLA SVIZZERA ITALIANA' is split across the top and bottom borders. |
