A rectangular cartouche bisects the numeral horizontally, containing the Arabic word فلس (Fils) in raised letters. The entire central device is enclosed within a plain circular border, which is in turn surrounded by an ornamental chain-link pattern of repeating elongated hexagonal and diamond-shaped links that extends to the coin's rim, lending a decorative geometric quality to the reverse. |
