Obverse description At centre, a stylised palm tree is depicted within a raised inner circle, rendered in a bold, graphic style characteristic of mid-20th century Gulf coinage. The legend 'حُكُومَة البَحرَين' (Government of Bahrain) appears in Arabic script along the upper periphery. The dual dating system is displayed at the lower periphery, with the Hijri year 1385 and the Gregorian year 1965 both rendered in Eastern Arabic numerals, separated by a dash.
