| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is divided into two sections: a larger left panel and a narrow right coupon stub, separated by a vertical perforation line. The main panel carries the issuer's name at the top, followed by the denomination ÖTVEN FILLÉR in bold letterpress, with the numeral 50 in a central ornamental frame flanked by decorative scroll borders. Below, a Hungarian-language text states the note is valid exclusively as legal tender at the Székesfehérvár construction site of the Lighting and Waterworks Joint Stock Company, with validity noted as 31 August 1920. The right stub repeats the denomination inscription ÖTVEN FILLÉR and the numeral 50 within a decorative border, with the serial number 941 at the foot. |

Székesfehérvár's municipal utility company — operating the town's gas lighting and waterworks — issued emergency fractional currency in 1920 because the postwar collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monetary system left Hungary with a catastrophic shortage of small-denomination coins. Local businesses and utilities across Hungary filled that vacuum with their own scrip, a phenomenon so widespread that the Hungarian government eventually moved to suppress it. That a waterworks firm was printing money speaks plainly to how completely the old financial infrastructure had disintegrated.
The Adamo catalog distinguishes at least three variants within this series, suggesting multiple print runs.
