At centre top, an oval wreath cartouche bears the validity restriction legend in Hungarian; the issuing authority and camp name are printed in bold capitals below. The denomination 'Ötven fillér' is set in large Gothic-style lettering at centre, beneath which the explanatory text and date appear. Three facsimile signatures above the Austro-Hungarian imperial coat of arms with the motto ribbons 'INDIVISIBILITER' and 'INSEPARABILITER' are printed at the lower centre, with the printer's imprint at bottom right. |

Zalaegerszeg held tens of thousands of Russian prisoners during the First World War, and the camp scrip issued there was a direct response to the Austro-Hungarian military's policy of keeping POW purchasing power strictly contained within the wire. The Globus Nyomda connection is straightforward — the Budapest commercial printer produced scrip for several Habsburg camp systems, and the Zalaegerszeg issues are among the better-documented examples.
The 50 Fillér denomination sits at an odd middle value for camp currency, useful mainly for the camp canteen hierarchy where tobacco and basic provisions were priced to absorb exactly this kind of fractional scrip.
