| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a large yin-yang (taiji) symbol rendered in high relief, surrounded by four large Chinese characters reading 光緒元寶 (Guangxu Yuanbao) arranged around the central motif. An inner beaded circle separates the central device from the surrounding peripheral legend. The upper arc of the outer legend reads 吉林省造 (Made in Kirin Province), the right side bears the cyclical year designation 辛丑 (year 38 of Guangxu), and the lower arc carries the denomination inscription 庫平三錢六分 (3 Mace and 6 Candareens, treasury standard). The overall design is characteristically flat and calligraphic, typical of late Qing provincial silver coinage. |
