| Obverse description | Central field bears four large Chinese ideograms arranged in a cross pattern reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left, flanking Manchu script characters at centre. The composition is framed by an outer ring of additional Chinese ideograms forming the full provincial and denominational legend. The script identifies the issuing province of Kwangtung, the reign title of the Guangxu Emperor, and the coin's value of three mace and six candareens. Manchu characters in the centre mirror the Chinese reign title and denomination. The overall layout follows the classical format of late Qing provincial coinage. |
