| Opis rewersu | The reverse presents a three-quarter view of the Venus de Milo, the celebrated Hellenistic marble sculpture discovered on the island of Milos in 1820 and presented to the Louvre by Louis XVIII the following year. The goddess figure is depicted with her characteristic partially draped torso and armless form, rendered in fine sculptural relief against a background of classical marble arches that serve as an architectural framing device.
