| 表面の説明 | The obverse depicts a jubilant crowd scene commemorating the Armistice of 11 November 1918, with soldiers of Allied nations being welcomed by their families in the foreground. The French, British, and American flags are prominently displayed amid the celebratory gathering. The Poppy and the Bleuet de France, symbols of remembrance for fallen soldiers, appear as design elements. In the background, the Arc de Triomphe rises majestically, serving as an architectural and thematic bridge to the reverse composition. The legend 'RF PEACE' appears in the field, with 'RF' denoting the République Française. |

Issued to mark the centenary of the November 11, 1918 armistice that ended fighting on the Western Front, this coin was part of a broader French commemorative program running across several years under the "Histoires de France" series. The armistice itself was signed in a railway carriage in the Forest of Compiègne — a location the Germans would deliberately choose again in June 1940 for France's own capitulation, using the same clearing and a recovered duplicate car.
The Monnaie de Paris struck this at their Pessac facility, which has handled French precious metal commemoratives since the Paris workshops were consolidated.
