| Obverse description | The obverse presents a dramatic architectural composition depicting the opposing domes of the Hôtel des Invalides (upper field) and the Grand Palais (lower field) in a striking bird's-eye perspective. The dome of the Invalides is rendered in selective gold gilding, with radiating sunburst motifs emanating from its crown in gilt relief, creating a vivid contrast against the mirror-polished silver field.
