France hosted the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup — the first time the country had done so for the women's tournament — and the Monnaie de Paris issued a themed series of collector coins to coincide with it. This piece represents the Africa confederation subset of that series, part of a broader run covering each FIFA confederation. The United States won the tournament, defeating the Netherlands in the final in Lyon.
