Obverse description Central field depicts a detailed relief of the Three Towers of San Marino (Guaita, Cesta, and Montale) perched dramatically atop the rocky crags of Mount Titano, rendered in fine sculptural detail with clouds and a distant horizon in the background. The legend GRAND PRIX SAN MARINO arcs along the upper periphery in bold Latin capitals, while the commemorative dates 1981 - 2005 appear along the lower border, flanked on both sides by a ring of twelve raised stars in the style of the European coinage tradition.

Reverse description The large numeral 50 is prominently displayed in the center of the field against an intricately engraved guilloche background composed of radiating and interlocking geometric patterns that create a dynamic, engine-turned effect across the entire surface. The denomination numeral is rendered in a clean, modern typeface and stands in high relief against the finely textured field. No additional legends or mint marks appear on this face.
