| Reverse description | The reverse displays the common European design for the 50 euro cent denomination, engraved by Luc Luycx. A relief map of the European Union occupies the left portion of the field, depicting member states in raised relief against a finely lined globe background, with lines of longitude and latitude visible beyond the EU territory. The bold numeral '50' dominates the right side of the reverse, with the denomination legend EURO CENT inscribed beneath in two lines. The designer's initials 'LL' appear in small characters near the lower right of the map. |

Slovenia adopted the euro on 1 January 2007, becoming the first former Yugoslav republic and the first post-communist transition economy to do so. The "2nd map" designation refers to the updated reverse design introduced across all eurozone 50-cent coins showing a full geographic map of Europe rather than the original fragmented EU-member-only outline — a change mandated by the European Commission following the 2004 enlargement, which had made the first map politically awkward as it excluded newly admitted member states.
