| Reverse description | The reverse features an interpretation of Klimt's celebrated painting 'Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I' (1907), adapted in high-relief goldwork by engraver Thomas Pesendorfer. The serene, idealised face of Adele Bloch-Bauer occupies the right portion of the field, rendered with smooth, finely detailed surfaces and adorned with an elaborate beaded choker necklace. The left half of the design is richly decorated with concentric spiral motifs, geometric patterns, and circular ornaments faithfully evoking Klimt's iconic golden style. Klimt's monogram 'K' appears in a rectangular cartouche at lower left, serving as the sole inscription on this face. |
