Obverse description The face presents side-by-side vignettes of the then-current 100 Deutsche Mark banknote and the proposed 50 Euro note, visually illustrating the forthcoming currency conversion relationship. Conversion rates are inscribed in both directions: 100,00 DM = 51,13 Euro and 50,00 Euro = 97,79 DM, serving as an educational reference for the anticipated exchange. The note bears a SPECIMEN overprint and a zeroed serial number (AA000000) in standard specimen format, consistent with pre-issue presentation pieces issued jointly under the authority of the European Monetary Institute and the European Central Bank.
