| Reverse description | Printed in blue on a multicolour guilloche underprint, the centre carries an oval intaglio vignette of a seated allegorical female figure gazing toward a sailing ship and a steamship at sea. Large numeral '50' counters appear in ornate guilloche rosettes to either side, with the denomination 'CINQUENTA ESCUDOS' along the lower border and the printer's imprint at the foot. The heading 'PAGÁVEL EM CABO VERDE' is inscribed in a rectangular panel at top, flanked by the issuer's name 'BANCO NACIONAL ULTRAMARINO'. |
