Aanvullende informatie

Cape Verde's FAO piedfort issues of the 1980s were produced specifically for the collector market at a moment when the newly independent republic — independent only since 1975 — was using FAO-themed coinage to signal participation in international food security programs. Piedforts, struck at double the standard planchet thickness, have no circulation purpose; they exist purely as presentation pieces for diplomats, institutions, and numismatic subscribers.

KM#P1 is the first piedfort recorded for Cape Verde, which makes it a foundational piece in any complete Cabo Verde type set.
