| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of Sigismund III Vasa facing right, rendered in high relief, wearing elaborately engraved parade armor with a lion's head pauldron at the shoulder and the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece suspended at the neck. A microdate '1621' appears in the field behind the bust near the commencement of the legend, while the engraver's initials 'S·A' (for Samuel Amman) are placed discreetly beneath the truncation. The entire composition is contained within a raised oak-leaf border. The circumferential legend in Latin reads: ❁ SIGISMVNDVS III D:G: POLONIÆ ET SVECIÆ REX ❁. |

| Reverse description | A large, crowned and elaborately garnished heraldic shield bearing the quartered arms of Poland (white eagle) and Lithuania (mounted knight), at whose center is imposed a smaller escutcheon quartering the arms of Sweden and Gotland with the Vasa sheaf at its heart. A winged cherub head appears below the main shield, and the mintmaster's initials 'II-VE' flank the decorative birds atop the garnish. A weak microdate '16-21' and the engraver's initials 'S-A' are worked into the lower portion of the shield's garnish. The entire heraldic composition is encircled by the finely rendered chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece.
