| 正面描述 | At center, a wild goat (Capra aegagrus) stands in profile facing left, rendered in relief against a radiating concentric-circle background suggestive of the Armenian highland landscape, with stylized rocky outcroppings flanking the animal on either side. The date 2012 appears in the lower exergual area beneath the goat. The circular legend, inscribed in Armenian script, reads along the upper arc 'ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅԱՆ ԿԵՆՏՐՈՆԱԿԱՆ ԲԱՆԿ' (Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia) and along the lower arc 'ՎԱՅՈՑ ՁՈՐԻ ՄԱՐԶ' (Vayots Dzor Province), separated by decorative bullet points. |

Vayots Dzor is one of Armenia's smallest and most mountainous provinces, best known internationally as the location of Areni-1 cave — where archaeologists in 2010 uncovered the world's oldest known leather shoe and, separately, the earliest evidence of wine production, dated to roughly 6,100 years ago. The regional series of Armenian circulation coinage issued around this period reflects a broader national effort to anchor provincial identity in everyday exchange.
