Descrizione del dritto	Portrait vignette of the ancient Greek poet Hesiod at left, with the White Tower of Thessaloniki rendered at lower centre and a sailing vessel at lower right. The face bears the principal denomination numerals and multilingual inscriptions within a structured border with guilloche underprint elements. Issue date of 1 January 1941 and facsimile signatures of the Governor and Director of the Bank of Greece appear in the lower margin.

Descrizione del rovescio	Central vignette reproduces a marble bas-relief section from the east frieze of the Parthenon in Athens, portraying the deities Poseidon, Apollo, and Artemis in the assembly of the gods. The scene is rendered in a classical engraved style within a plain border. Denomination numerals and issuing bank legends are positioned in the surrounding margins.
