Jamaica's polymer-adjacent Hybrid™ substrate notes — combining a polymer core with paper outer layers — were introduced partly to address the country's persistent humidity problem, which had long accelerated the deterioration of standard cotton-fibre notes in circulation. The Hybrid format offered improved durability without requiring the full infrastructure shift that a pure polymer series demands.
G&D's Leipzig facility has supplied Jamaican currency across several series. P#94 runs a long print window, and date collectors tracking the annual signature and date variants within the series will find more combinations than the Pick listing implies.
