Описание аверса	The national seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands occupies the central field, depicting a frigate bird with outstretched wings above a traditional Marshallese stick chart, flanked by a sailing canoe to the right and an atoll with palm trees to the left, with a radiant sun at the top. The legend REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters. The denomination $5 appears at the lower left, and the date 1998 at the lower right. The motto JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN curves along the lower border, and the word SEAL appears on a banner at the base of the central device. The entire design is framed by a decorative chain border.

Дополнительная информация	The USS Missouri (BB-63) is best known as the site of Japan's formal surrender on September 2, 1945, but the Marshall Islands had particular reason to commemorate her — the ship participated in the post-war Operation Crossroads nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll in 1946, conducted within Marshall Islands territory, displacing local populations whose return was ultimately deemed permanently impossible due to residual contamination.
