Obverse description The obverse features a bimetallic design with a gold-toned inner disc and a silver outer ring. At the centre of the inner disc, a finely detailed high-relief rendering of the Bauhinia blakeana flower — the emblem of Hong Kong — is depicted in full bloom, its five asymmetrical petals rendered with naturalistic precision. The Chinese characters 香港 appear in the upper field of the outer ring at left and right, while the Latin legend HONG KONG is inscribed along the lower arc of the outer ring.
