| 正面描述 | Central field features the Singapore coat of arms, depicting a shield supported by a lion rampant to the left and a tiger to the right, surmounted by a crescent moon and five stars. The date 1989 appears below the shield in the lower field. A circular legend surrounds the design, inscribed in four scripts: Latin at the top reading SINGAPURA, Tamil script to the left, Chinese characters to the right, and SINGAPORE at the base, all denoting the name of the issuing nation. |

Issued to mark the 30th anniversary of Singapore's National Children's Fund and aligned with the global Save the Children movement, this piece was part of Singapore's expanding commemorative gold program of the late 1980s — a period when MAS was actively cultivating a collector market for fine gold issues tied to social and diplomatic themes. Mintages for this series were tightly controlled, and the .9999 fineness was a deliberate departure from the .900 gold used in earlier Singapore commemoratives.
