Obverse description The complete coat of arms of Guyana occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing a Victoria Regia lily, three wavy lines representing the rivers, and a canje pheasant in the base, flanked by two jaguars rampant as supporters. Above the shield rises an Amerindian headdress as crest, and below is a ribbon bearing the national motto in three sections. The legend BANK OF GUYANA arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin characters, while the date 1994 appears in the lower field beneath the arms.
