Obverse description Central vignette of Yusof bin Ishak, first President of the Republic of Singapore, rendered in intaglio against a blue guilloche underprint. The coat of arms of Singapore appears in the upper left corner, while a Cylindrical Cowrie shell motif is integrated into the background design. Multilingual inscriptions identifying the issuing authority and denomination are arranged around the portrait.

Reverse description The reverse is devoted to the Arts theme, presenting four ethnic musical instruments representing Singapore's multicultural heritage: the Chinese Pipa, the Malay Kompang, the Indian Veena, and the Classical Violin. Two reproductions of artworks from the Singapore Art Museum — entitled 'Gibbon' and 'Drying Salted Fish' — are incorporated into the composition as vignettes, illustrating the development of the local arts scene.
