Reverse description The reverse presents a dynamic allegorical composition depicting Mars, the Roman god of war, rendered in heroic classical style. The armored figure of Mars strides forward, wearing a plumed helmet and Roman military dress, raising a spear with his right hand while bearing a large round shield in his left, positioned before a large globe representing the planet Mars occupying the right field. At the lower left, the astrological and astronomical symbol of Mars appears alongside a detailed griffin, one of the god's sacred creatures. Star and dot motifs representing the celestial field are scattered throughout the background. The denomination $50 is inscribed at the lower center, the legend MARS appears at the lower left, and the date 1994 is positioned at the top of the field.
