| 正面描述 | The obverse bears a portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as depicted on Canadian coinage from 1965, showing Her Majesty at approximately 37 years of age in right-facing profile, wearing a tiara and with hair styled in an upswept arrangement. The portrait, based on Arnold Machin's celebrated effigy, is rendered in high relief against a flat field. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA, with the denomination 50 DOLLARS positioned at the lower portion of the obverse. |

The .9999 fine standard used here is the Royal Canadian Mint's benchmark for its bullion and collector gold output — a purity level the RCM achieved consistently from the 1980s onward and has since used to differentiate its product internationally. The red enamel inlay is applied after striking, a cold-fill process that requires a recessed field prepared at the die stage.
Elizabeth II died in September 2022. Canadian coins bearing her effigy continued in production well into the transition period as the Mint worked through authorized designs, making 2025 a notably late date for an Elizabeth II issue.
