| Obverse description | The obverse features the official seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands rendered in high relief at the centre of the field. The seal depicts a frigate bird with outstretched wings above a traditional Marshallese outrigger canoe on stylised waves, flanked by various national symbols including crossed staffs, a sun, a fish and coral formations. The denomination '50' appears to the left and the date '1998' to the right within the chain border.
