背面描述 The reverse features a high-relief rendition of a group of soldiers and guerrilla fighters — both uniformed military personnel and civilian combatants — standing together in a close formation, evoking the Allied and Filipino resistance forces of World War II. The figures are depicted in a realistic, sculptural style against a mirror-like proof field. The dedicatory legend TO THE HEROES OF THE PHILIPPINES curves along the upper periphery with dot separators, while the denomination FIFTY DOLLARS is inscribed in the lower field. The commemorative date range 1944-1994, marking the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the Philippines, appears at the bottom of the coin.

附加信息

The Marshall Islands Commemorative Coinage Program of the early 1990s targeted the American collector market almost exclusively, issuing dozens of themed series with little connection to Marshallese economic life. This particular piece honors Filipino guerrilla fighters and civilians who resisted Japanese occupation from 1942 onward — a resistance that cost an estimated one million Filipino lives before liberation in 1945.

The coins were legal tender in name only; none circulated.
