Issued to mark the 25th anniversary of the Brunei Currency Board, which was established in 1967 following the territory's decision not to join the Malaysian currency union — a choice that preserved Brunei's monetary independence from Kuala Lumpur while maintaining the longstanding interchangeability agreement with the Singapore dollar that remains in force to this day.
