表面の説明	The official Seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands occupies the central field, depicting a traditional Marshallese outrigger sailing canoe at sea, flanked by a frigate bird with outstretched wings at center, a rising sun with radiating rays above, a zeppelin airship to the upper left, and a fishing net to the upper right, all set against a stylised ocean and island landscape. The seal is enclosed within a decorative chain border. The legend REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS arcs along the upper periphery, with the denomination $50 to the left and the date 1989 to the right. The Marshallese national motto JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN appears along the lower periphery. The word SEAL is inscribed on a cartouche at the base of the central design.

裏面の説明	A Mercury space capsule is depicted in high relief in the upper portion of the field, shown in three-quarter view against a starfield with several individual stars visible. Beneath the capsule, a detailed flat map projection of the Earth's continents is rendered across the lower field, with orbital trajectory lines arcing across the globe to suggest the path of the spacecraft. A star device appears to the lower left. The denomination 50 FIFTY DOLLARS is inscribed to the right of center. The curved legend FIRST AMERICAN IN EARTH ORBIT - 1962 arcs along the upper periphery.
