Aanvullende informatie

The ndrua — a double-hulled ocean-going vessel developed in Fiji and widely adopted across Melanesia and parts of Polynesia — was among the fastest sailing craft in the pre-colonial Pacific, capable of speeds that genuinely surprised early European navigators. The Marshall Islands has issued numerous commemorative silver pieces celebrating Pacific maritime heritage, this being one of a broader series covering traditional watercraft from cultures well outside its own atoll geography.
