| Additional information |
The LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin completed 590 flights and logged over a million miles before being retired in 1937, but its 1929 round-the-world voyage — accomplished in just over 21 days — was the event that turned an airship into a global phenomenon. Cook Islands issued several large-format silver pieces in the early 2010s capitalizing on that enduring fascination with early aviation milestones.
At 155.5 grams, these were produced for the collector market exclusively. None entered circulation.
