Reverse description The reverse bears a highly detailed portrait of the young Queen Elizabeth II as depicted at her coronation in 1953, shown in left profile bust wearing the Imperial State Crown adorned with fleurs-de-lis, crosses, and jewelled arches. The Queen is robed in full coronation regalia, including an ermine-trimmed mantle with ornate braided cords and tassels, a pearl necklace with a pendant drop, and a drop earring. Her right hand holds the Sovereign's Sceptre with Cross, while her left hand rests upon the Sovereign's Orb. The legend CANADA 50 DOLLARS arcs along the right field, and the engraver's initials GG appear at lower left.
