| 背面描述 | The reverse, designed by Neil Hamelin, presents a richly coloured and engraved depiction of the Solar System set against a star-filled field evoking the disk of the Milky Way galaxy. A partial arc of the Sun appears at one edge, its gaseous surface rendered with luminous intensity enhanced by black light technology, which also imparts a cool white glow to the surrounding stars. The eight planets are arranged in their correct heliocentric order from nearest to farthest — Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune — each rendered with colour detail appropriate to its appearance. Swirling engraved orbital lines radiate outward from the central colour element, lending dynamism and depth to the composition. The denomination 50 DOLLARS, the issuer CANADA, and the designer's initials NH appear in the legend. |

The Royal Canadian Mint has issued a substantial number of large-format fine silver commemoratives in recent decades, and this Solar System piece is part of that broader program rather than a response to any singular event or monetary policy decision. What distinguishes it technically is the .9999 fineness — four-nines purity is not the automatic standard even for modern bullion, and its use here reflects the RCM's consistent positioning of these collector issues at the upper threshold of refining capability.
