| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupies the central field of this square flan. The legend ELIZABETH II runs vertically along the left border, while FIJI 2012 appears along the upper border and 50 DOLLARS along the lower border. The engraver's initials IRB are inscribed beneath the truncation of the bust. A border of raised beads frames the entire composition. |

Fiji has no historical or geographic connection to the Egyptian pyramids — this is unambiguously a bullion collectible issued for the international numismatic market, using Fiji's sovereign minting authority purely as a vehicle. The practice accelerated sharply in the 2000s as small Pacific and Caribbean nations licensed their monetary authority to foreign minting operations, primarily European, in exchange for seigniorage revenue. Fiji itself had limited involvement in the design or distribution.
The 93.3 gram weight corresponds to 3 troy ounces of .999 silver.
