Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem and a pearl necklace with drop earring, as sculpted by Raphael David Maklouf. The Queen's draped bust is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim and COOK ISLANDS along the right rim, with the date 1987 positioned at the bottom. The engraver's initials RDM appear discretely below the truncation of the bust.
