Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II CANADA 2022 D G REGINA 50 DOLLARS SB
Reverse description Faithful enlargement of the obverse design of the French colonial 30 Deniers coin of 1711, struck during the reign of Louis XIV and associated with New France. The central device comprises the interlaced double-L royal cipher of Louis XIV, surmounted by an ornate royal crown, flanked by two fleurs-de-lis to the left and right, with a third fleur-de-lis below. The circular legend LVD XIIII FR ET NAV REX 1711, reading clockwise from the upper left, runs between an inner beaded border and an outer reeded rim, replicating the original baroque lettering style of the Mints of France.
