Beschrijving keerzijde The crowned Polish White Eagle displayed with wings spread, rendered in high relief at the centre of the field in the contemporary style of the Polish national emblem, superimposed over a larger, lightly incused outline of the historical eagle in the older heraldic tradition. In the lower portion of the field, the large numerals 1918 are depicted in a bold, stylised design that integrates the eagle motif, referencing both the year of Polish independence and the centenary. The curved legend 100-LECIE ODZYSKANIA PRZEZ POLSKE NIEPODLEGLOSCI arcs along the upper border, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence.

Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark the centenary of Polish independence in November 1918, this coin belongs to a wave of commemorative gold struck by Niue — a Cook Islands dependency with a population under 2,000 — whose licensing agreements with the Polish Mint have made it an unlikely vehicle for Polish national commemoratives since the 2010s. The arrangement is purely commercial: Niue contributes legal tender status, Poland contributes the design and distribution infrastructure.
