| Beschrijving keerzijde | A large, highly detailed sugar maple leaf (Acer saccharum) is rendered in high relief at the centre of the field, with finely engraved veining across its surface and a rhodium-plated finish that creates a striking contrast against the iridescent blue-toned background. The field is covered with a repeating micro-engraved pattern of miniature maple leaf outlines, producing a shimmering optical effect evoking motion. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 2022 appears in the lower exergue. The engraver's initials NL are inscribed discreetly in the lower field near the stem of the leaf. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The Royal Canadian Mint introduced rhodium plating to its bullion-adjacent collector issues as a direct response to tarnishing complaints from the mid-2010s, when high-purity .9999 silver proved more chemically reactive than the alloyed silver used in earlier decades. Rhodium, a platinum-group metal, is harder than silver by a significant margin and provides near-permanent resistance to oxidation — but it also alters surface reflectivity in ways that divide collector opinion sharply.
KM#3253 is part of a broader Maple Leaves in Motion series that leans into the Mint's laser micro-engraving technology, first deployed commercially around 2014 on the standard one-ounce bullion Maple Leaf as an anti-counterfeiting measure.
