Aanvullende informatie

The International Year of the Scout in 1983 marked the centenary of Robert Baden-Powell's birth, and numerous Commonwealth nations issued commemorative silver to coincide with it. The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank — the monetary authority shared across eight island territories including Antigua, St. Kitts, and Grenada — participated with this $50 issue, one of a series of high-denomination commemoratives the ECCB produced through the early 1980s that were intended almost exclusively for collector export rather than domestic circulation.

Mintages for ECCB commemoratives of this period were typically small and split across proof and uncirculated formats.
