Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, with drop earring and beaded necklace visible. The portrait is the third definitive effigy sculpted by Raphael David Maklouf, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the left periphery and 'COOK ISLANDS' along the right, both in raised Latin lettering. The date '1990' appears in the lower exergue. The engraver's initials 'RDM' are incuse beneath the truncation.
