| Obverse description | Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II occupies the upper central field, executed in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof background; the portrait is signed IRB (Ian Rank-Broadley) beneath the truncation. Radiating geometric faceted panels in a Cubist-inspired Art Deco composition surround the effigy, with a stylised armchair rendered in relief at the centre below the portrait, an allusion to Czech Cubist furniture design. The legend ELIZABETH II runs diagonally in the left field and NIUE ISLAND diagonally in the right field, both set within polished angular bands. The denomination 50 DOLLARS appears at the bottom centre, flanked by the purity mark Pt 999 to the left and the date 2021 to the right. The Czech Mint mark appears at the very base of the design. |
