备注

P#CS1 is one of the odder collector items in Caribbean numismatics — a 50-dollar commemorative souvenir note issued by the Central Bank of Belize, not intended for circulation at any point. The gold foil bonding makes it structurally unlike any circulating Belizean issue of the period, and the "cushion star" designation refers to the die-cut or embossed element incorporated into the construction rather than a design motif in any conventional sense.

Belize had only gained independence from Britain in 1981, making this 1984 issue an early exercise in the kind of prestige numismatic product that newly sovereign central banks occasionally commissioned to generate collector revenue and assert institutional credibility simultaneously.
